Michaela is a Service Manager in Children’s Services at a Local Authority in the East of England and also the co-director of Crescendo, a social work led organisation focused on practitioner system change that enables relationship-based and more effective social work. She qualified as a social worker in 2001 and has worked in Childrens’ Services since.
Michaela’s drive to move into social work management was motivated by a desire to have more influence in creating the right conditions for great social work practice to thrive. She is inspired daily by social workers achieving great things with the children and families they work with but believes there is a long way to go to achieve a system that truly supports their work, Crescendo is a further step on this journey.
