Biography

Adept at spanning boundaries, Kate has combined consultancy, board directorships, teaching and parenting three children (and more recently grandparenting) over 30+ years. During this time, she has supported dozens of individuals, organisations and communities to make practical use of evaluative thinking and practice to further their goals and aspirations and raised three children.

Kate is the director of The Knowledge Institute Ltd, a member of the Kinnect Group and a member of the indigenous-led collective Tuakana Teina, based in the Waikato region of New Zealand.

She is a co-founder of the Developmental Evaluation Institute and a founding member and past Convenor of the Aotearoa New Zealand Evaluation Association (ANZEA).

She is also the Chair of the board of Xtreme Zero Waste Ltd, an organisation committed to the principles of local circular economies affording all precious resources their true value. The organisation is a leader in locally-led action towards a global vision of a world without waste.

She holds a Masters in Social Policy (First Class Honours), from Massey University, New Zealand.
